Guess what, I write books too!
Well nothing completed quite yet, but I've working hard on several projects over the last few years. I've been wanting to write a book since I was a kid and I've learned so much already. It's been a ton of work so far and much more to go, but it'll all be worth it to see my vision come alive on the page.
What projects can you look forward to?
While there are many ideas I've got floating around, there are a few that are currently concrete and attainable. Here they are, listed in order of the amount work currently done on them!
Forest of The Fae
The Siren's Guardian
Every generation seven merfolk were born with the power to hear the voice of the sea and held the sacred duty of interpreting the seas will. These beings were called The Sirens, and every Siren was protected by a Guardian. A chosen warrior to act as their sword, their shield, their caretaker.
Dawn was blessed to be raised by a Guardian and a waning Siren and was proud and honored to be chosen as the Guardian of the next Siren, a flighty young mermaid named Gia, beautiful as she was stubborn. Dawn couldn't have asked for a better path in life, but her half aware father keeps warning her that the sea has other plans. When a murder takes place in the Coral Palace, Gia is determined to solve the murder herself and clear the crown prince's name. Dawn has no choice but to follow her lead. Soon the two find the world wasn't as they had known it, and that that had not truly known themselves. More importantly, it seems they are the only ones standing between an all-out war between the Seven Kingdoms, and allies are few and far between.
The Siren's Guardian is a new-adult fantasy adventure that deals in unrequited love, betrayal, destiny, and change. Features LGBTQ+ own voice representation.
How can I support these projects?
The best way to make these stories a reality is donate to my Ko-Fi, but keeping up with the blog, and showing support on social media are great ways to help out. Every bit counts and I want to be able to write as many books as I can. Unfortunately, in today's world that means a lot of work and money.
If you like what you see here and on my blog, you can always make short story requests through my Ko-fi as well!
And if there was one story in particular that stuck out to you, or any blog posts that catch your eye, never be afraid to comment and let me know, it truly means the world to me.
With love,
Kayla (The Mango) Fussell
